Wedding photography has grown up. It's Photojournalistic. Documentary. Contemporary. Whatever it's called now, it means telling a story using photographs to capture fleeting emotion, lovingly chosen details, and letting moments happen naturally without staging them for the camera. It's important to note that photojournalism is much more than taking photographs in black and white!
I have been a photojournalist for years, published in many newspapers in New Jersey; in fact I worked for Forbes Publications as head of the photography department, but missed the excitement and creativity of event photography. One thing I learned as a photojournalist was to simply record the news as it happened, with an artistic eye. As a wedding photographer, I am honored to be invited to witness and document the celebration as you begin your new family. A silent, unobtrusive photographic style allows me to capture moments as they happen, while my subjects are as unaware of the camera as possible. The benefits are twofold: the photographs are much more natural and emotional, and you can enjoy your day uninterrupted with "Look here and smile!"
As you view my work, you will see a story in each photograph. I believe that old adage that "a picture is worth a thousand words," and strive at each event to capture the spontaneous images of the special people who share your wedding day, so the loving touches, the romantic glances and the exuberant joy brought to you by your friends and family will live forever.
After "I do," after "the kiss," and the wonderful feast for family and friends, long after the cake has been enjoyed and the best man has toasted the happy couple, those photographs will be the one guaranteed way you will be able to remember all the moments that made. Tender touches and the unexpected actions and reactions are over in a blink of the eye. When you look at your photos from your wedding day forward you recall the love that gave them life.
The artistry of our photography and the unrehearsed love and joy of your wedding day combined in a storytelling way will always be as fresh as the day they came to life. Let me tell your story, the story of one of the most important days of your life, the way you lived it.
