Here are some of the more popular questions couples ask Tarantino Photography

What's the difference between a good wedding photographer...and a great one?
The best photojournalists shoot pictures that go beyond the obvious. They tell amazing stories. They reach for emotions that staged poses can't deliver. Their photos capture elusive and unexpected special moments that people respond to.

Anticipating the right moment, having the right gear ready, understanding lighting and composition, to make extraordinary images under ever-changing conditions is the mark of a experienced professional. Fancy camera equipment does not make a photographer great unless it's in the hands of a great photographer already.

Take a look at our photos and you'll not only see the difference, you'll feel it!

Jeff, what kind of wedding photography describes your style?
My primary style is photojournalistic. I do my best to work unobtrusively, so your photos will reflect all the real drama of the day, however, I will efficiently take the necessary group shots, so you can quickly return to your guests. And my artistic sense for anticipating the right moments that lead to meaningful images is always working, so even posed shots will look natural.

How do you compare digital vs. film?
Advances in technology have made this a non-issue. Today's digital equipment is excellent, however, if your photographer pulls out a "point-and-shoot" digital camera...RUN! Film is still beautiful—I was a film shooter for over 20 years, but I find the immediacy and convenience of digital to be an advantage to both the couples I photograph and for me as a photographer.

Digital is fairly new. How much experience do you have with it?
As an Adobe Certified Photoshop expert and digital imaging teacher at a local college, my experience is extensive. I've also worked as a photographer for twenty years. My business has gone digital because it offers many advantages: it's faster than changing film, immediate results instead of waiting for lab processing, on-the-fly ISO changes, built-in color correction and more. It also saves the bride and groom money since it's cheaper to shoot many more photographs—in both black and white and color. When we meet, I can show you the difference between digital and film-based prints.

How much does high-quality wedding photography cost?
Obviously budget is important. You have many vendors to consider and photography is only one of them. In the New Jersey market, photography typically runs between 10% and 15% of your total wedding budget. Considering that your wedding pictures will provide memories for years to come, it's worth investing in a photographer who has also been around for many years.

Tarantino Photography can help you customize an affordable plan with ceremony-only photo coverage and do-it-yourself albums, to a custom package with full-day coverage and studio-designed leather-bound coffee table albums, parent's albums and DVD multi-media presentations.

When you create your budget, you will need to prioritize...Just remember, of all the services you will select to create your wedding day, which will be the one that lasts and will provide memories for years to come?
